This Privacy Policy explains how OmniCue handles information when you use the OmniCue iOS app. OmniCue is a teleprompter and recording app that helps you write scripts, rehearse, record video, use Picture in Picture, and display lightweight prompting status through Live Activities.

1. Summary
OmniCue is designed to keep your content under your control. We do not operate user accounts, advertising, analytics, tracking, or developer-controlled servers for uploading your app content. We do not sell your data.
Your scripts, teleprompter settings, app preferences, imported document text, temporary recordings, camera input, microphone input, purchase status, and speech recognition results are used only to provide the app features you choose to use.
2. Information OmniCue Handles
Scripts and teleprompter settings
When you create, edit, duplicate, import, search, pin, or delete scripts, OmniCue stores the script title, script body, creation date, update date, pinned state, and teleprompter style settings on your device using Apple's app storage technologies.
Teleprompter style settings may include font size, alignment, margins, text color, background color, background opacity, scroll speed, guide line visibility, countdown settings, mirror mode, selected font style, marquee colors, marquee speed, and app theme preference.
If iCloud is available for your Apple ID and the app is able to use CloudKit, OmniCue may sync scripts and teleprompter settings through your personal iCloud private database. This iCloud sync uses Apple's CloudKit service. We do not upload your scripts or settings to developer-controlled servers.
Imported files
If you import a file, OmniCue reads the selected file only to extract readable script text. Supported import paths may include plain text, PDF, RTF, HTML, and DOCX files. The extracted text can be saved as a local script. The original imported file is not uploaded by OmniCue.
Camera and microphone
If you use recording features, OmniCue requests access to your camera and microphone. Camera access is used to show the in-app camera preview and capture video. Microphone access is used to record audio with video and, when you choose voice pacing, to listen for speech so the prompter can follow your speaking progress.
OmniCue does not use camera or microphone access in the background for tracking, advertising, analytics, or user profiling.
Recordings and Photos
When you record video, OmniCue creates a temporary video file on your device. After you stop recording, OmniCue requests add-only access to your Photos library so it can save the recording to Photos. After the save attempt completes, the temporary file is removed from the app's temporary storage.
OmniCue does not read your existing photo library for this feature.
Speech recognition
If you enable voice pacing, OmniCue requests Speech Recognition permission and microphone permission. The app uses Apple's Speech framework to convert your speech into text so OmniCue can compare it with the local script and adjust prompter progress.
OmniCue does not store voice recordings for voice pacing, does not save speech recognition transcripts as separate records, and does not send speech recognition content to our servers. Speech recognition may be processed by Apple system services according to Apple's own terms and privacy practices.
Picture in Picture and Live Activities
If you use Picture in Picture, OmniCue renders your script text into a system Picture in Picture presentation so you can view prompting content outside the main app interface.
If you start a Live Activity, OmniCue sends the Live Activity system a limited prompting state, including the script identifier, script title, a preview of up to 1,000 characters of script text, playback state, scroll speed, line index, and update time. This information is used to display the Live Activity and Dynamic Island experience on your device. OmniCue does not use push tokens for Live Activity updates in the current app.
Live Activity content can appear on the Lock Screen and in Dynamic Island where it may be visible to people who can see your device screen.
Purchases
OmniCue uses Apple's StoreKit framework for the one-time Full Access unlock. The 3-day trial is a free in-app trial stored on your device and does not invoke an App Store purchase sheet. Purchase transactions, payment methods, refunds, and App Store receipts for the one-time unlock are handled by Apple. OmniCue reads your App Store entitlement status to unlock or restore paid features. We do not receive your payment card details.
Privacy policy website
The OmniCue privacy policy is hosted on Vercel. When you visit the privacy policy webpage, Vercel may process basic request information needed to serve the page, such as IP address, browser information, device information, request time, and page URL, according to Vercel's own practices.
3. Data Collection by the Developer
In the current version, OmniCue does not collect personal data from your device to developer-controlled servers.
The app does not include third-party advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, third-party crash reporting SDKs, third-party tracking SDKs, account login, or developer-operated cloud storage. iCloud sync is handled through Apple's CloudKit private database, and in-app purchases are handled through Apple's StoreKit and App Store payment systems.
4. How Information Is Used
OmniCue uses local app data and device permissions only to provide the features you choose, including:
- creating and managing scripts;
- showing teleprompter, marquee, and camera overlays;
- importing readable text from selected files;
- recording video and audio;
- saving recordings to Photos;
- matching speech to a local script for voice pacing;
- displaying Picture in Picture and Live Activity prompting status;
- remembering app appearance and prompter preferences;
- checking App Store entitlement status for purchases and restore purchases;
- checking local trial status on your device.
5. Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.
OmniCue may rely on Apple-provided system frameworks and services, such as iCloud/CloudKit, StoreKit, Photos, Speech, Picture in Picture, ActivityKit, WidgetKit, AVFoundation, SwiftData, and iOS permission services. Information handled by those Apple services is subject to Apple's applicable terms and privacy practices.
6. Storage and Retention
Scripts and settings remain on your device until you delete them in the app or remove the app from your device. If iCloud sync is active, synced script data may also remain in your personal iCloud private database according to your Apple ID and iCloud settings. Recordings saved to Photos remain in your Photos library until you delete them from Photos.
Temporary recording files are intended to be removed after the app finishes saving or failing to save the recording.
If local app storage becomes unavailable or corrupted, the app may attempt to recreate its local data store so that the app can continue running. This may affect locally stored scripts.
7. Your Choices and Controls
You can control OmniCue data and permissions in the following ways:
- Delete scripts in OmniCue.
- Delete saved recordings in the Photos app.
- Manage iCloud and app data through iOS Settings and your Apple ID/iCloud settings.
- Revoke Camera, Microphone, Speech Recognition, Photos, Live Activities, and Background Activity permissions in iOS Settings.
- Stop Picture in Picture or Live Activities from the app or system controls.
- Restore or manage purchases through the App Store and your Apple ID.
- Remove OmniCue from your device to delete app-local data managed by iOS.
Some features may stop working if required permissions are disabled.
8. Children
OmniCue is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
9. International Users
OmniCue stores app content on your device and may sync scripts and settings through your personal iCloud private database when iCloud is available. OmniCue does not operate developer-controlled servers for user content. Apple system services used by iOS may process information according to Apple's terms and privacy practices.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when OmniCue's features, data handling, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page shows when the policy was last updated.
